Lots of new books by some of my favorite authors have come out recently!  :)

I recently finished Jennifer Weiner’s newest book Certain Girls. In anticipation of this book I re-read her first novel, Good in Bed. I had read Good in Bed when it first came out but did not really remember much about it so I enjoyed re-reading it.  It’s the 13 year precursor to Certain Girls. 

Unfortunately Certain Girls was not as good as I anticipated.  It wasn’t terrible – it just was not as good as Jennifer Weiner’s other novels.  If you have not read any of her other books than you may like Certain Girls – I was disappointed because I was familiar with her other work.  

I also finished Good Things over the weekend, by Mia King.  I really liked it.  It was a very easy read (perfect for up at the cottage on the boat) but still well-written with good characters.  Sure, it was a little bit predictable but it was also chick-lit and I would think it’s hard for chick-lit NOT to be somewhat predictable.  This was Mia King's first book and I look forward to her second coming out in September!

Right now I am reading Love the One You’re With, by Emily Giffen.  Emily Giffen is another Women’s Fiction author I follow and I really like all of Emily Giffen’s books.  So far Love the One You’re With is not too bad.  It definitely fits the tone of her other books.  I am only 100 or so pages in so the characters are still developing but so far so good.
