Easter/Weekend Recap

by Wife 24. March 2008 08:47

Bryan and I had a nice weekend.

Friday night we rented "Dan in Real Life."   It was alright.

Saturday was our six month wedding anniversary!! :)  That is pretty exciting.  We planned on getting dressed up and going to a nice restaurant but we got busy and didn't do that... I ran errands Saturday morning, cleaned the house up a bit, and met my mom, Becky, Rene, Sharon and Laura at Deer Lake for Laura's birthday lunch.  That was fun.  Sharon came over to our house and afterwards and with her help we now have all of our paint colors chosen out! :)  We are so happy about that, and were having a tough time putting all the colors together, etc.  So now I think our house will blend very nicely from room to room.  After choosing the colors our we went over to Sherwin-Williams to pick up samples of the colors we chose, just to double-check with lighting, etc.  We will paint the sample colors up one night this week.

After Sherwin-Williams we went over to Art Van where we finally chose out our end tables and entertainment unit for the family room, as well as our king-size mattress.  We can't wait for the nice mattress... :)  Then we met Katie at Twelve Oaks where she got a pair of pants from Express and Bryan looked at some shoes at Macy's.

By that time it was almost 9:00 and both Bryan and I were pretty tired, so we just went to Carrabba's for dinner.  It was good! :)

Sunday was Easter, and that morning I was a baking fiend!  I made homemade gingerbread men, stars, hearts, and eggs.  I also made homemade carrot cupcakes with buttercream frosting.  Both turned out really well! Bryan helped decorate the gingerbread cookies and we had fun doing so.  I put little carrots on each cupcake and they turned out really cute.  We also baked some sweet potatoes, lightly basted in olive oil with a little brown sugar on the skin.

At 2:00 we went over to Laura's for Easter dinner with my mom's side.  There was lots and lots of food!  Turkey, ham, three different kinds of potatoes, a salad, green bean casserole, stuffing, desserts, etc.  Everyone loved the cookies and cupcakes. :)  It was a nice first Easter as a married couple.

And that's it.  It was a busy weekend.  I hate starting the work week tired, but what can you do..
