Weekend Recap

by Wife 4. March 2008 09:30

Bryan and I had a nice weekend.  :)  We decided to go visit his parent at their cottage, so after work on Friday we drove up there.

Saturday we had a Dykstra breakfast (his mom always makes a big breakfast on Saturdays) and then he hung out with "the guys" (his dad and a few of his dad's friends).  They probably just drank beer and hung out in someone's pole barn.  Because that's what they do over there.  While Bryan hang out and had some man time, I went with "the girls" (his mom and a few of her friends) to Menards where they were getting paint to match a comforter.  Cindee is updating her cottage (Trondo, as they say)...

Saturday afternoon Bryan and I enjoyed a nice and relaxing nap on the very comfortable bed that is up there..  Saturday we had a good dinner with his parents, and then went over to another couple's cottage (friends of his parents) and played some cards.

Sunday we were able to take off pretty early (around 9:30/10) and made it back home in less than three hours! :)

I planned on running lots of errands, trying to find house stuff, on Sunday but after running to Kroger and experiencing a crazy zoo I just stayed at home.  I read and baked cookies.  I made soft molasses cookies, peanut butter cookies, and Hershey's thumbprint cookies.  They were quite delicious.  Bryan and I brought them to work yesterday and they were eaten up! :)

Sunday we had dinner with Jamie, Ryan, and Clint at Red Knapp's.  It was good.  Ryan, Clint, and Bryan talked about technology and work, as usually.  Jamie and I were both pretty quiet, especially Jamie.  She was sick from all the kids she is now around with student teaching.  Bryan shared his new job news with them, and everyone was pretty excited about that.

And that's it.  It was a nice, relaxing, calm weekend.  We might not have done anything on the house, but it's okay to take a break (or hiatus)..
